Sewing the connection between fashion and advanced manufacturing

Year 11 Gateway School students from St Peters Lutheran College had the great opportunity to see first-hand how Black Milk Clothing use advanced manufacturing practices in their successful Brisbane-based fashion studio.

Guided by our Program Manager, Jules McMurtie, the students toured the facility to see the entire manufacturing process, from ideation to creation. Students gained knowledge of the various roles within the Fashion Industry and learned of different pathways that can be taken to enter the Fashion Industry.

“This real-world experience gave students a practical knowledge of industry standards relating to fashion production, in addition to inspiring them to design stylish swimwear.”
