Leading the Way in Industry 4.0 Training: Launch of the Certificate II Manufacturing Technology resources
Technology is quickly being adopted by industry, but new opportunities in advanced manufacturing rely on traditional skills.
It is our responsibility to present school leavers with a key to the industry door by providing training pathways that will facilitate the transition into this highly skilled sector - and maybe even change the direction of a student’s career choice!
We recently celebrated the launch of the new student and teacher resources which now feature advanced manufacturing processes, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, additive manufacturing (3D printing), robotics and automation, advanced materials, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies, among others.
The initiative was led by industry expert and Workforce Development Manager from QMI, Sam Nicolosi, in collaboration with Gateway School for Advanced Manufacturing, Dalby State High School. Thanks to our manufacturing industry partner Arrow Energy, this corporate social investment project is now live and ready for use.
Advanced Manufacturing Gateway Schools and schools in the Bowen Surat Basin Region now have free access to the digital resources, comprising six modules presented as student workbooks with accompanying answer books:

The advancing manufacturing and engineering sector, through industry 4.0 adoption, is providing a unique opportunity for Queensland manufacturers to be recognised for their quality, niche and customised products to a global audience.
This project is an excellent example of how corporate social investment can create a positive impact.
By offering industry insights, evidence and opportunities for industry and the education sector, we can work together to deliver outcomes for schoolteachers, students, local communities, and business.
"The industry has a positive outlook, and its diversity contributes significantly to the strength of the Queensland economy. As such, it is our responsibility to ensure we present opportunities, so the industry is getting the skills required today, and in the future"
– Gateway to Industry Schools Program Manager, Jules McMurtrie
